Where can you find Green Beer on Anna Maria Island?!

Where’s the green beer at?   green beerFiguring out where to drink on St. Patrick’s Day can be a daunting task. Whether you’re staying at one of our vacation rentals or a resident on Anna Maria Island, we got you covered on where to go for the festivities. Duffy’s Tavern has always been a staple on Anna Maria Island and their St. Patrick’s day celebrations do not fall short. Green beer and traditional dishes stay flowing all day Saturday to commemorate the Irish roots Duffy’s tavern was founded on. In the heart of Holmes Beach, Duffy’s Tavern is our top pick. The newly opened Freckled Fin just around the corner is guaranteed to be a good time this Saturday. With Irish flags draped all around the edifice, we’re certain the traditional menu items will be amazing and the live music will be even better. If you can handle more than one stop on your boozy day we suggest hitting Duffy’s tavern in the day and Freckled Fin at night. Bridge street is always known for the night life and St. Patrick’s day definitely won’t disappoint. You have options there. Hit Island Time for a cocktail, Blue Marlin for dinner, Sports for an after dinner drink, and the Drift-in if you want to keep the party going and make your Irish heritage proud. Off the island, we got more options! Clancy’s will be packed more than a college bar offering penny beers on game day. Ask someone in Manatee County where to go on St. Patrick’s day and we would bet our lucky 4-leaf clover that they will say Clancy’s. It’s a sight to see so grab your phone call a Lyft and head there if you want some time on the mainland. Not too far away is Paddy Wagons. A relatively new bar located next to the Anna Maria Oyster Bar on Cortez. The green beer will be flowing and the crowd won’t be as bad as Clancy’s. Downtown is your 3rd option on the mainland. They block the street off and the surrounding bars all participate. Get a different perspective on the area. Our food recommendation there is O’Bricks (the name probably gives it away but they are definitely celebrating St. Pats) or Jennings Provisions. A new small plate and wine/beer bar. Maybe they will have green Lola wine? Enjoy Saturday Irish or not and make sure to plan on watching the St Paddy’s Day parade on the island which is Sunday, march 18th beginning at 4:00 in Holmes Beach!
