Welcome to The Shady Mermaid! A luxury ground-level vacation home just a 3-minute walk from the beach! With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, this rental sleeps up to six guests. You and your guests can sit back, relax, watch movies, and connect over effortless conversations in the living area. Top of the range, fully equipped kitchen has ample counter space, gas cook top and oven, extra-large fridge/freezer and wine cooler making meal prep a breeze. There is also a wet bar in the dining area with two cooler drawers, a large butler's kitchen with a large freezer. Delight in your delicious island-inspired homemade meals or Anna Maria Island take-out at the indoor or outdoor dining table, where you can also enjoy the island breeze.

The primary bedroom offers a calming atmosphere perfect for catching up on much-needed sleep and has a TV for late-night entertainment. The second bedroom is perfect for another couple and has plenty of closet space for vacation attire and beach necessities. The primary bedroom has a bathroom which features a soaking tub and walk-in shower. The guest bathroom has a walk-in shower. There is also a baby monitor in the property.

Relax in your private backyard oasis, where you and your guests can make a splash in the pool and relax in one of the many seating areas. There is a BBQ grill perfect for grilling locally caught seafood. Explore the beautiful beaches Anna Maria Island offers, swim in the warm turquoise waters, and feel the sugary sand cover your feet. Afterward, browse the fantastic boutiques, coffee shops in Holmes Beach or head to any local restaurants for delicious treats and fresh seafood! Hop on the free trolley and explore the island! Anna Maria Island has many guided tours. Kayak or paddleboard the bay and the calm Gulf of Mexico, where you might even encounter some wildlife!

EXTERIOR

After a long day at the beach, head back to The Shady Mermaid and take advantage of its beautiful outdoor scape. Take a dip in the crystal-clear private heated pool. There is a gas grill and outdoor dining spot to enjoy a bite to eat in a beautiful, tropical landscape. Also, a large Tiki Hut with bar, loungers and outdoor TV where you can enjoy the Game.

The pool heat is $100.00 a week. Pool heaters in private homes are locked for your safety and controls must not be tampered with as they are monitored by the pool company. 86° F is the highest heat temperature setting which might not be always reached. Please note if cold days and nights occur, water temperatures will drop and may stay cooler longer. Pool heaters will not operate and will automatically shut down if outside temperatures get too cold. While we take every precaution to ensure that pools are heated as specified, weather conditions may affect the temperature of the pool. Nothing can be done about this issue. Outdoor spas are not hot tubs and require heat at the additional cost. The temperature of a spa is typically set at the same temperature as the pool. In the event of pool equipment malfunction during your stay, Duncan Real Estate will expedite repairs as quickly as possible. It may be necessary to close swimming pools for maintenance purposes. No refund or rent adjustment will be made for circumstances beyond our control, malfunctions, or loss of use of equipment or amenities.

There are parking spaces for two cars at The Shady Mermaid. Also, a Golf Cart parking space with outlet.

Please keep in mind that you are vacationing in a residential area. Please be a good neighbor by keeping the noise to a respectful level during the day and night. Excessive and unreasonable noise can deprive neighbors of the peaceful enjoyment of their private property.

The Shady Mermaid was extraordinary!

"My friend group and I travel annually to Anna Maria Island, so between the five of us we've rented dozens and dozens of vacation rentals over the years on the island. This home, The Shady Mermaid, was extraordinary! We've found over the years that Duncan Properties by far provide the greater experience. We've rented from the other companies on the island and their homes don't compare. They are not as well maintained and they lack essential items. Duncan thinks of everything, every detail. They are wonderful!

Just a few minutes walk to the beach!

"We just spent 5 nights at the Shady Mermaid property, and were thoroughly impressed with how appointed it was. Little details that are normally overlooked or ignored with AirBNB/VRBO properties were not at that property. There were dishwashing pods, plenty of pots/pans and cooking utensils, trash bags, toiletries for the bathroom, and of course all the items one would want for a trip to the beach. Every last detail of this place was impressive. There is a tablet on the wall that controls everything from lighting to fans and music (living room and on the back porch by the pool). The kitchen appliances are extremely high end and there is plenty of refrigerator/freezer space for anything you may need. It’s well located too, just a few minute walk to the beach and there are several stores/restaurants within a couple blocks. And best of all, the mattresses were fantastic - we all slept great. This is by far the most impressive property we have stayed in our several years of coming to AMI when it comes to the build out and the details I mentioned. Everything looks new and follows the same theme. Perfect spot for a family of 4-5 or just a couple. We will be back!

Paradise Found at the Shady Mermaid

"Our stay at the beautiful Shady Mermaid on Anna Maria Island was nothing short of perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the charming coastal decor and the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the home. The house was impeccably clean and inviting, with every modern amenity we could have asked for. The kitchen was so state-of-the-art that I almost felt guilty microwaving leftovers – almost. The living room was perfect for our group, complete with a giant TV and a cozy couch, making it the ideal retreat for relaxing after a day of island adventures. The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, and our kids actually went to bed willingly – a miracle in itself. We especially appreciated the master suite, which felt like a private sanctuary with its own luxurious bathroom. But the true pièce de résistance was the backyard. The pool was a sparkling gem that became the centerpiece of our vacation. The kids transformed into little (some shady) mermaids, while we adults took turns soaking up the sun. The outdoor grill area turned us into BBQ masters, and the patio was the perfect spot for morning coffee in the sun and evening cocktails under the stars. The location was unbeatable – just a short walk to the pristine beaches of Anna Maria Island. We loved exploring the local shops and dining at the fantastic nearby restaurants. The provided beach chairs, towels, and toys made our beach days effortless and fun. In short, Shady Mermaid exceeded all our expectations and provided the ideal backdrop for a memorable summer vacation. We left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and already dreaming of our return. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful hosts for sharing their slice of paradise with us!

Luxurious with amazing pool close to the beach

"We are regular travelers and would rate The Shady Mermaid as one of the most luxurious, best located, and cleanest of all the places we have stayed. The home is very modern and had next-level amenities from the chef kitchen to the outdoor patio. It’s in a quiet location with a beautiful pool and gorgeous outdoor area perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway with plenty of privacy. For us, the outdoor area - and especially the super warm pool - was a phenomenal play area for our young kids. The location was an easy, short walk to the beach. Our hosts had everything available for a family with young kids - including a wagon for the beach trip. Would highly recommend this wonderful home for your next vacation. We can’t wait to return next year!
