Calm before the Storm: Hurricane Irma!

Hurricane Irma has gotten everyone in a flutter. We are super busy on Anna Maria Island taking down signs, moving in outdoor furniture and all around getting prepped at all vacation rentals just in case Irma decides to head our way. It is so hard to be in this “limbo” to see exactly the path of the storm and sometimes these hurricanes can turn at the last minute. Everyone at Duncan Real Estate tries not to watch too much about the hurricane and really only visits the National Hurricane Center website for our updated information. The important thing is to stayed informed and to prepare you and your family. There are so many websites and info available to you, but we find that the most helpful information comes from the National Hurricane Center website. To help you and your family prepare, check out this link as well – it sums up how to prepare and get ready for a major storm. A few important items if you live or work on Anna Maria Island. If there is a mandatory evacuation, you will need a pass from one of the cities on AMI to get back on the island. If you are a resident, you need to visit the city hall within the city that you live – either Anna Maria, Holmes Beach or Bradenton Beach. You will need to take your ID and also a piece of mail that has your address on it. If you work on Anna Maria Island, go to one of the city halls and show your ID and business card to receive a pass to get back on the island. Stay tuned! As we get more information and helpful tips, we will continue to pass along to you! Stay safe! ?????????????????
